Mr. Hung Q. Tran was the Deputy Director for the Monetary and Capital Markets Department, IMF (International Monetary Fund) from 2001 to 2007. From 1987-1990, he was Director of Global Fixed Income Research at Deutsche Bank in New York, then as Co-Founding Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Research GmbH from 1991-1995 in Frankfurt, and finally as Head of Equity Business (Sales, Trading, Derivatives, Research) for the Deutsche Bank Group in Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore from 1995-1998. From 1998 to 2001 Mr. Tran was Managing Director, Chief Economist and Global Head of Research for Rabobank International in London, a Dutch multinational bank. From 2007 til retirement in 2018, Mr. Tran was at the Institute of International Finance (IIF). Since 2012 he served as IIF’s Executive Managing Director while simultaneously leading its Global Capital Markets Department. Mr. Tran received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics and Accounting from California State University, Fullerton and completed the doctoral course work in Economics at New York University.
