Dr. Chau Tran received a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1972. Her professional career included work as a Research Officer for the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in Toronto and later as a Multicultural Consultant for the Toronto Board of Education from 1980 to 1997. She also taught various courses in Applied Linguistics at Ruhr-Universitat, Bochum, Germany (1973-1976). She is now retired and living in Victoria, BC, Canada.
